#Makers is an innovative series for secondary school students, placing them at the heart of the learning process and fostering cognitive, social, and emotional skills. In #Makers, students engage with integrated print and digital resources, enhancing their learning opportunities and encouraging autonomy. The series employs active learning principles, equipping students with the tools they need to become leaders in their communities and in the 21st-century world.
With a variety of printed and digital activities, #Makers stimulates creativity and promotes the comprehensive development of communication skills and different learning styles. The engaging and relevant topics enable students to not only learn the language but also develop critical thinking and an active stance on various social and cultural issues.

Scope & sequence
With #Makers, students will:
- Explore relevant and current topics: Such as social media life, environmental responsibility, cultural stereotypes, leadership, forced displacement and its causes, volunteer work, safety, and school bullying.
- Foster social and emotional learning: Helping teenagers manage their emotions, solve problems, and build respectful personal relationships.
- Apply the scientific method: To develop critical thinking through investigations and practical projects.
- Participate in activities that stimulate creativity and collaboration: Integrating the Maker movement to solve problems in a concrete, hands-on manner.
- Develop language skills aligned with the CEFR: Including preparation for international exams.

Each unit in the Student’s Book begins with texts, images, audio, and exclusive videos that engage learners in the topic. Activities are designed to develop social and emotional learning skills, preparing students to become global citizens. The book integrates the scientific method through enquiry-based research, fostering critical thinking skills. Principles of the Maker movement are applied to solve problems in a hands-on, concrete manner.
Structure of the Student’s Book
8 thematic units, each divided into the following lessons:
Unit Opener: Each unit opens with clear objectives, activation questions, and an introduction to the unit’s theme. This section is designed to spark curiosity and set the stage for the learning journey ahead.
First Move: Introduces the unit’s topic, stimulating analysis and discussion of images, readings, and exclusive videos accessible via QR codes.
Language 1: Presents the unit’s main vocabulary in context and with concrete communicative purposes.
Listening and Speaking: Includes comprehension and production activities, plus a useful pronunciation section.
Reading: Features a variety of text genres, facilitating comprehension through pre-, during-, and post-reading sequences.
Language 2: Focuses on the structural study of the language (grammar) using examples from the reading section.
Writing: Guides students through planning, drafting, revising, and producing a final text.
Investigate: Connects the scientific method with English learning, developing critical thinking through instigative questions, data analysis, and group reflection.
